About the Fundraiser:
The Houston Cinema Arts Society and the DeLUXE Theater are working to install state-of-the-art film projection equipment in the historic DeLUXE Theater along with supplying the necessary additional equipment and training to ensure the successful completion of the project and future screenings.
Our fundraising goal of $30,000 will be used to support the acquiring of new cinema equipment, and audio-visual integration, which includes DCP projector-related expenses and film programming at the Deluxe.
Once complete, this project will ensure the highest quality viewing experience in this historic jewel box theater. HCAS will work with the DeLUXE to produce quarterly film programming and community events. Having a DCI-compliant Digital Cinema Projector will give the DeLUXE the capability to play the latest Blockbuster movies and Oscar-qualifying films that are only available in certain formats. The equipment will also be available for use by other community partners, filmmakers, and cinema distributors as part of the DeLUXE Theater’s rental package.
